Kris Kristofferson Set to Release New Album to Coincide With Upcoming 80th Birthday

Kris Kristofferson will turn 80 years old on June 22. To get the celebration started, the Country Music Hall of Famer will release a new album, The Cedar Creek Sessions, on June 17. The two-volume album was recorded in June 2014 during a three-day impromptu jam session at Cedar Creek Recording in Austin, Texas, with musicians Shawn Camp (lead guitar), Kevin Smith (bass), Michael Ramos (keyboard) and Mike Meadows (drums).

Comprised of 25 of Kris’ favorite songs, including “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down” and “Me and Bobby McGee,” the album also features a duet with Sheryl Crow on “The Loving Gift.”
