In The Kitchen with Martina McBride

Martina McBride has always had a love of cooking, as demonstrated by the cookbook she released in 2014, Around the Table: Recipes and Inspiration for Gatherings Throughout the Year. The book includes some of her favorite recipes as well as tips, menu planning advice and décor inspiration.

So it was no surprise when she showed up on Home & Family this week to prepare one of her favorite recipes from the book, Garlic Roasted Shrimp Cocktail. Martina shared that she would have chosen to be a party planner had she not been a successful country singer. What’s the appeal to party planning for Martina? “The planning of it is my favorite part,” she explains. “It’s just another creative outlet.”

When asked if she would be interested in doing her own cooking show, Martina replied, “I would. I obviously would need some training and help. This is different than cooking in my kitchen.”

Martina, who has been making the rounds promoting her 13th studio album, Reckless, out now, told Nash Country Daily that there is a new tour in the works. “I’m still looking at ideas for the fall, ” Martina said. “It will be an all-new production.” Currently, you can catch Martina on the road throughout the summer months, with fairs and festival dates thrown in.

Now grab yourself some paper and a pen and get ready to write down Martina’s recipe for Garlic Roasted Shrimp Cocktail, as you watch her prepare the delicious appetizer here:
