American Idol 2016: Hollywood Week! Jan. 27 Episode Recap

American Idol 2016: Hollywood Week! Jan. 27 Episode Recap

Hollywood Week is here, and last night the judges had to cut half of the 190 contestants they brought out to tinsel town.

For those of you who don’t want to do that math, I got you covered: That’s 95 aspiring idols.

Luckily for us, they decided not to drag this process out, so we got two days worth of auditions in one hour!

Can someone please tell me where all the country acts went?!

Seriously, during the road auditions there were endless country cuties. Last night they only featured four.

That being said, here is my pick of the week: Tristan McIntosh

On Monday, Mickey Guyton invited Tristan to sing with her at the Eric Paslay show here in Nashville, so I had my eye on her.

To be honest, I was a little nervous when she started singing Carrie Underwood’s “Something in the Water”. It was shaky, but when she hit that note “CHHAAAAANNNGGEEEE” I was like “DAAAANNGGG!”

Girl. That is not an easy note, but you slayed it.

Tomorrow night, get ready for some drama y’all. It’s the dreaded “group auditions.”

This never goes smoothly and I love it. Let the upstaging, backstabbing and crying begin!

Yikes, that reads kinda harsh, but don’t pretend you’re not thinking the same thing 😉
